Can Oxygen Desiccant Be Stored in The Freezer?
Leave a message
Many people believe that storing oxygen desiccant in a low-temperature environment can extend its shelf life, and therefore place it in the refrigerator or freezer. However, in fact, oxygen desiccant should not be stored in the freezer for the following reasons:
(1) In a high-humidity environment, oxygen desiccant will absorb moisture more quickly, thus losing its dehumidifying effect;
(2) Oxygen desiccant will be destroyed by the low-temperature environment inside the freezer, thus failing to exert its moisture-absorbing effect;
(3) Most oxygen desiccant needs to be in contact with air to exert its dehumidifying effect. If it is sealed in the freezer, it will not be able to absorb moisture.
Therefore, we do not recommend storing oxygen desiccant in the freezer, as this may affect its moisture-absorbing effect and lifespan.
