Types of Deoxygenating Agents

Deoxygenating agents mainly fall into the following categories:
1. Sponge Iron Deoxygenating Agent: Made primarily of active iron through a reduction process, it boasts high adsorption rates and acid/alkali resistance, making it suitable for water treatment.
2. Sodium Sulfite Deoxygenating Agent: Removes dissolved oxygen from water through a chemical reaction, commonly used in boiler water treatment.
3. Hydrazine Deoxygenating Agent: A highly efficient chemical deoxygenating agent suitable for high-temperature and high-pressure systems.
4. Carbon Steel Deoxygenating Agent: Removes oxygen through the oxidation reaction of carbon steel, primarily used in industrial water treatment.
5. Catalytic Deoxygenating Agent: Accelerates the reaction between oxygen and the reducing agent using a catalyst, resulting in high efficiency.
Each deoxygenating agent has its own characteristics. Sponge iron deoxygenating agents are widely used in water treatment due to their high temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, and high adsorption rate, while chemical deoxygenating agents are more suitable for applications requiring rapid reactions. When selecting a deoxygenating agent, factors such as water quality, temperature, pressure, and cost must be considered.
